It appeared to me that this version of "heaven" reflects a Hindu world view rather than a Christian understanding, despite the author's earlier training.

Pieria 4aI am surprised to find that someone thinks his experiences were evidence (let alone "proof") of heaven. But it may be evidence that physicalism is insufficient to explain.

The best critique of Christian "near death" literature ... the books in which little Johnny reports on his vision of heaven, and tells us what it's like there...

Protestants like little Johnny's family break my heart sometimes.

Grandma could be in purgatory.

OTOH Catholic doctrine teach us at best little Johnny had a Private Revelation with his trip to Heaven.

Private revelations are not infallible and can contain error.

Mary allegedly told the Children at Fatima to pray for souls in Hell.

Well souls in Hell can benefit from prayer. So that was wrong & Fatima is an approved apparition.

edit:

That is they can't benefit from prayers etc....
